2010 – most of
our coal mining artefacts are being moved to Apedale Heritage Centre for
display. For pictures of the large winding engine being moved see HERE Feb
2010 – we have
been given a number of items from an
old Blacksmith’s Forge
at Chapel Lawn Jan
2010 – we have
made the Smelthouse
building safe and cleared trees around it with a grant from English
Heritage. Dec
2009 – one of
the old anvils from the Blacksmith Shop has been returned, albeit slightly
damaged. Nov 2009 – we have been successful in obtaining a lottery grant and this will pay for several projects including rebuilding the Barracks and training volunteers in new skills. |
