Information The underground mine is now closed for the winter. This is because bats will be roosting in the
workings and must not be disturbed. Open
Sundays at the visitor centre will re-commence in the spring. Visits & tours above ground can still
be organised by contacting us. The 2011
open weekend was very successful with more than 600 visitors over the two
days We will be

We now
have a professionally produced Education Pack for schools and educational
establishments. It includes information to help prepare risk assessments for
visits

NEWS October
2011 Work has started to build a headframe over Black Tom
shaft. This will be a restoration using the original wheels
which we have in store. Restoration is also taking place on the old engine
house next to the blacksmiths. Brick & stone work is being repaired using traditional materials. |
