The longer Roberts level trip is open on limited days
For 2014 these are

Sat 13th & Sun 14th Sept (Heritage weekend)
Sunday October 5th
Roberts level trips must be pre-booked
If you wish to discuss a group booking for weekends or weekdays
Including surface or underground visits

During the next few months contractors working for Shropshire council will be working on some of the buildings at Snailbeach.
Please stay away from working areas and obey all safety notices.
Important planning information
The short Day Level trip
This is dry but you will need to stoop in part of the tunnel.
It is suitable for all ages.
The longer Roberts level trip
For this trip you will need wellington boots.
There is a 15 min. walk up to the mine and the floors are uneven.
This trip is not suitable for infirm persons & no one under 5 Yrs is permitted.
Your guide will explain details before the tour starts.
We now have a professionally produced Education Pack
for schools and educational establishments. It includes information to help prepare risk assessments for visits
Guided tours for groups and schools are available either weekends or during weekdays.
These need to be pre-booked
Voluntary donations box for car parking by the entrance.
“There is limited disabled parking in front of the visitor centre”
Access is mostly on un-made pathways which may be muddy in places and suitable footwear is advised.
On some parts of the site there are steps and steep paths although there are alternative routes if required.
