You can join the Trust as a Full Member or, if you only wish to receive publications and attend the occasional social meeting, you can become a Friend. There is only one charge per household for Friends, however many persons living there. If, however, anyone at that address pays to become a Full Member then all others living there can be Friends free of charge. If you wish to join as a Full Member, you must also pay for liability insurance cover which is now obligatory. This is either for surface activities only or includes underground as well. £6.00 Friend				Receipt of publications and attendance at social events only. The subscription covers all persons at a single address.
£11.00 Surface Member				Able to take part in surface activities only like conservation, etc. Subscription includes liability insurance for surface. You are not allowed to go underground as part of a SMTL activity.
£11.00 Surface Member (under18)
£22.00 Underground Member				Able to take part in all SMTL activities including underground trips. Subscription includes liability insurance for surface and underground.
£14.00 Underground Member (under18)
£5.00 Member (insurance paid elsewhere)				If you have already paid for liability insurance with another organisation, you only need to pay £6.00 for membership of SMTL. Your other club will give you an insurance reference and you should quote that if claiming this reduction.
